Enough of the performative politics. We need real action on Entergy!

Councilmember Palmer's Entergy resolution is performative politics at its worst. It is nothing more than a political press release disguised as legislation, when it actually does not accomplish anything for ratepayers.

As a former legislator, I’ve seen how some legislators use non-binding resolutions to fool you into thinking they’re making change. But they’re worth less than the paper they’re printed on.

When it comes to Entergy, the Council has real power and real regulatory authority to direct Entergy to stop rate increases. Instead, with her non-binding resolution, Palmer chose to ask "pretty please."

Palmer's meaningless resolution merely asks Entergy not to raise rates. Meanwhile, Council President Moreno had already put forward a solution that would require Entergy not to raise rates.

Palmer has spent eight years on our City Council, but she still doesn't understand that she is Entergy's regulator! Instead of using her power to demand, she wants to ASK, BEG, and PLEAD with Entergy not to raise your rates - exactly what Entergy wants the City Council to do.

We need regulators, not politicians, as our City Councilmembers. Once elected, I promise to REGULATE Entergy on behalf of the people - not beg for their mercy.

We are all tired of being sick and tired. We need real leadership on the City Council, not politicians who wake up during election season to issue press releases and empty resolutions about the problems they've ignored for the eight years they've been in office.
